York is a natural choice for the course as there are so many good organs in walking distance. We use St Helen's, St Olave's (pronounced Olive's), the RC St Wilfrid's and the large organ in the Central Methodist Church.

We have now run two courses in York. We had four volunteer organists on each course attending who were all local and who thoroughly enjoyed the organs we used. A special pleasure was to be able to use the large three-manual organ in the Central Methodist Church.

If you would like to express an interest in taking part in a day course, please let me know and I will put the wheels in motion!

The tutor on the course (when available), will be David Pipe, Assistant Director of Music at York Minster.

The cost will be between £65 and £95 depending on the number of participants. The more participants taking part, the cheaper the day becomes! Please use the online booking form to let us have your details.

Two organs are used for this course, the two-manual Walker organ in
St. Helen's Church and the larger three-manual John Brown organ in the
Central Methodist Church. Those on past courses have been thrilled with
both instruments and at both venues the console can be seen clearly
by all the group.

After a number of one-day courses, we shall arrange an overnight 'booster' course when participants will be able to visit the organ in York Minster for an evening tutorial/demonstration! An inspiring experience and not to be missed...
